A Story of Transformation

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:13

I once had a miracle encounter with a lady who suffered through nights of vile and dark demonic inspired dreams. The dreams were so vivid that she often reproduced the images by making drawings of them. One night in the midst of a tormented dream she met someone with a message for her. Jesus appeared in her dream and sent her to a particular address to see a tall man who would tell her the truth. I fit the description at 6'3" (190cm).

This encounter launched this Muslim lady on a journey of transition to a new life with purpose and meaning. I met with her a few times and then asked a lady in the church to be her mentor and spiritual guide. It was a rough road for awhile but when you have a dream as specific as she had it makes a big and lasting impact, so she persevered in her quest for truth.  I will never forget the day when she rushed into my office and stated:

"Jesus is everything."

From that day forward her countenance changed. The darkness was gone. Her face shone with happiness and peace.

What happened? How is it possible that a decision to follow Jesus impacts physical appearance? What was so dramatic about finding truth that it caused the impact of the nightmares to diminish.

The Scripture verse from I John 5 tells us we can know the truth about Jesus for certain. The key is believing in Jesus - who He is and what He has done. When a person, by faith, believes that Jesus is the Son of God it is like a switch is turned on. The Spirit of Jesus moves in and suddenly the person knows the Truth.

It is the most amazing experience for a disciple-maker to witness this transformation in the life of someone who moves from disbelief to belief in Jesus and knowing for sure they have eternal life. In 20 countries of the world we are training disciple-makers so they know what to do whenever another person is interested in knowing Jesus. They are being equipped to guide new believers on a journey so they too are simultaneously trained and ready to tell someone else about Jesus. By this simple but effective method, lives are being transformed as we make disciples across the street and around the world.
